The 'Collected Works' by Alexander Nikolayevich Scriabin is a scholarly, practice- oriented edition of the great Russian composer's oeuvre. Its purpose is to present critically verified texts of Scriabin's works on the basis of comprehensive study of extant materials, including sketches and first drafts, editions that appeared during the composer's lifetime, recordings of his performances on mechanical piano. Important information on the origins of each work and on the process of composition can be elicited from the composer's literary writings and extant correspondence, as well as from the memoirs of his contemporaries.
The critical examination of the texts takes into account also the editions prepared and published after the composer's death by specialists who had studied his legacy.
The present edition, apart from musical texts, provides comprehensive information on the history of works' creation, publication and performance, as well as textual comments.

Собрание сочинений А.Н. Скрябина является научно-практическим изданием произведений великого русского композитора. Цель издания — на основе всестороннего изучения сохранившихся материалов творческого наследия композитора представить критически выверенные тексты сочинений Скрябина. Научно-текстологическую базу исследования составляют черновые наброски, эскизы, автографы, прижизненные издания, записи авторского исполнения для механического фортепиано. Важным источником в изучении истории возникновения замысла каждого сочинения, процесса работы над ним являются литературные записи и сохранившаяся переписка композитора, мемуарные свидетельства современников.
В процессе критического рассмотрения текстов принимаются во внимание также издания, подготовленные и выпущенные после смерти композитора рядом специалистов, занимавшихся изучением творческого наследия композитора.
В настоящем издании публикация нотных текстов сопровождается сведениями об истории их создания, публикации и исполнения, а также текстологическими комментариями. Издание ориентировано как на исследователей, изучающих творчество композитора, так и на исполнителей его музыки.
