Oleg Dobrotin is one of the most demanded accordionist of the Moscow scene.
Oleg Dobrotin was born on April, 5th, 1983. At the age of six encouraged by his parents Oleg begun to play the accordion. In 1999 he finished Glazunov’s Music School № 33 (teacher Banis Larisa Grigor’evna). In 2003 he finished State musical college name after the Gnessins (teacher Gusakov Valery Petrovich) and in 2008 The Gnesins’ Academy of Music (pedagogue Igor Victorovich Syroezhkin).
In days of training in college Oleg takes a great interest in jazz music. In 2003 has got acquainted with Sergey Manoukyan and under his leadership was engaged in jazz improvisation. Organizes his first jazz ensemble, which consisted of accordion, guitar, bass and drums. The ensemble has performed at various venues in Moscow, including in the House of Composers.
In 2005, together with saxophonist Vyacheslav Matveyev was formed jazz band “JARA”. The ensemble plays traditional jazz, performs at restaurants, clubs and various exhibitions in Moscow.
In 2007-2008 he participated in the project blues singer Michael Mishouris “Mishouris blues band”. He toured with the team in Novosibirsk, Tula, and Yaroslavl.
Oleg Dobrotin plays in the biggest clubs of Moscow: “Le Club”, “Jazz town”, “Blue Bird”, “FAQ Cafe”, “BB King”, “Road House”, “Contrabass”, “Petrovich” , “Duma”, “Flat 44 “, etc. He has played with great jazz musicians such as Sergey Manoukyan, Andrey Kitaev, Pavel Chekmakovsky, Alexey Kuznetsov, Igor Boiko, Levan Lomidze, Michael Tracy and many.
In his work Oleg Dobrotin not stand still. He is the owner of a unique electro-acoustic accordion, working towards a combination of playing the acoustic accordion with electronic sounds, various effects and other electronic technologies. Also performs with his own trio (accordion, bass, drums), which continues the tradition of accordion jazz performance Art Van Damme, Frank Marocco, Vladimir Danilin.
