In the monograph, the semantic method of formation of terms, that is the specific role of transterminologization was first investigated in the monograph. It first analyzed the sociolinguistic factors of the formation of terms by semantic method. Models of transterms have been developed, and a new assessment of the role of transterms in generating duplication and variation has been made. The work has shown that metaphor plays a special role in the transterminologization of certain sphere terms into other areas. The study also clarified the scope of terms emerging from the evolutionary movement, and re-evaluated the role of transterms in the emergence of phenomena such as duplication and variation in certain field terminology systems. It is theoretically proved in the study that semantic formulation is widespread in terms of terminology, and that this method has a long history. The effects of such processes as semantic boundaries, secondary nominations, terminological coherence, onomastic conversion occurring in vocabulary units or lexical layers of the language have been described. The results of the research will help to clarify and analyze issues such as the development and regulation of Uzbek terminology. The results and conclusions of the study can be used widely at universities, philological faculties, secondary schools, academic lyceums and vocational colleges for special courses and seminars in linguistics, in the development of textbooks and manuals.
