Sergei Viktorovich Yekimov (*1974) - composer, conductor, member of the Russia Composers' Union, art director of the International Choral Art Festival "The Singing World", art director and conductor of the Women's Choir at the Choir-Conducting Department of the St. Petersburg N. A. Rimsky-Korsakov Music College, assistant professor of the Academic Choir at the faculty of the St. Petersburg Culture and Arts' University. Yekimov is the graduate of the St. Petersburg State N. A. Rimsky-Korsakov Conservatoire, where he studied choir conducting (professor F. M. Kozlov, Honoured Art Worker of Russia) and composition (professor Yu. A. Falik, People's Artist of Russia). Post-graduate education was completed by him in 2011 at the class of V. V. Uspensky.
During the period of 1993-2009 Yekimov directed the St. Petersburg Youth Choir.
Among his compositions there are choral and orchestral ones, instrumental and vocal ensembles, ecclesiastic and secular music a cappella, vocal cycles, piano and choral pieces for children, music to performances, choral arrangements of Russian folk songs, popular melodies, romances and variety music.
Yekimov's opuses and transcriptions enjoyed popularity via Russia and all over the world: Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia, Ukraine, Poland, Hungary, Austria, Germany, France, Spain, Holland, Switzerland, USA and Japan. Leading Russian choirs include his music to their stocks; it's recorded on CDs, transmitted by radio and TV, published in Russia and abroad.
Choir music of the 20th-21st centuries was not once the topic of his master-classes. He was also the participant and chairman of the jury at different choral festivals and contests.

Сергей Екимов - композитор, дирижер, член Союза композиторов России и Союза концертных деятелей Санкт-Петербурга, художественный директор Международного фестиваля хорового искусства "Поющий мир" (Санкт-Петербург), художественный руководитель и дирижер Женского хора дирижерско-хорового отдела Санкт-Петербургского музыкального училища им. Н. А. Римского-Корсакова, доцент кафедры хорового дирижирования Санкт-Петербургской консерватории им. Н. А. Римского-Корсакова и кафедры академического хора факультета искусств Санкт-Петербургского государственного университета культуры и искусств, художественный руководитель и дирижер Концертного хора университета, заведующий отделом исполнительской практики и концертных программ университета.
"Три романса на стихи М. Лермонтова" для женского хора и фортепиано были написаны в 2010 году по просьбе народного артиста России, профессора Якова Дубравина для юбилейного издания сборника "Русская хоровая музыка на стихи М. Ю. Лермонтова" (к 170-летию со дня гибели поэта), автором-составителем которого он являлся. Премьера сочинения состоялась 26 декабря того же года в Государственной академической Капелле Санкт-Петербурга в исполнении лауреата международных конкурсов Академического женского хора Санкт-Петербургского государственного университета культуры и искусств под управлением Елены Жуковой. Сольную партию исполнила подающая большие надежды студентка вокального факультета Петербургской консерватории Елизавета Свешникова. Композитор посвятил это сочинение его первым исполнителям.
